The Impact of Bariatric Surgery on Severely Obese Patients With Diabetes

Obesity and diabetes are two often interrelated and escalating health problems. For patients with clinically severe obesity and diabetes, surgery provides the best option for the cure of both disease processes. The resolution of diabetes may not result from weight loss alone, but instead may be caused by (surgical) alateration of the enteroinsular axis.
