In a recent reprint of the American Diabetes Association position statement “Diabetes Management in Correctional Institutions” (Diabetes Spectrum 18:151–158, 2005), a table summarizing management recommendations for adults with diabetes contained two errors. The recommendation for preprandial plasma glucose is 90–130 mg/dl (5.0–7.2 mmol/l), and the recommendation for HDL cholesterol is > 40 mg/dl (> 1.1 mmol/l).
