Jane Jeffrie Seley, NP, CDE, is a nurse practitioner and educator on the inpatient diabetes team at NewYork Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. She holds a master's degree in public health from New York University and a master's degree in gerontological nursing from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, both in New York City.

Ms. Seley's areas of interest include coordination of care from inpatient to outpatient settings and facilitating patient motivation, self-care, and behavior-change goals.

Ms. Seley serves on the American Diabetes Association's Scientific Sessions Planning Committee and is the liaison for that organization's Professional Section Council on Education. She is also a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators' Professional Practice Committee and is chair-elect of its Inpatient Diabetes Specialty Practice Group.

She is a contributing editor and column coordinator of the “Diabetes Under Control” column in the American Journal of Nursing.
